چکیده

Material deterioration due to erosion and oxidation in high-temperature environments is a major cause of wear power plants, aircraft engines petrochemical industries. NiCrSiB based surface coatings using thermal spray techniques such as High-Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) offer cost-effective route improve the tribological properties for range substrate materials. The study investigates resistance HVOF coated reinforced with Al2O3 WCCo on SS304 stainless steel substrate. kinetics responses at 750 °C were evaluated period 160 hrs coating microstructure, morphology chemical compositions characterised. A total three studied namely: NiCrSiB/Al2O3, NiCrSiB/n-Al2O3 NiCrSiB/WCCo where results indicate superior all cases comparison uncoated SS304. However, it was found that micro-structured outperformed other terms resistance. When comes resistance, demonstrate highest performance.

The Study of High Temperature Oxidation behavior of Different Microstructures of HVOF Thermally Sprayed Coatings

Improvement of thermally sprayed coating properties by microstructure modification has been considered as a significant solution. Therefore, in this research the effect of dissolved oxygen content and post heat treatment on the formation and distribution of secondary phase particles, particularly in nano-scale in the coatings during spraying and after that were studied. Ni-5 wt% Al powders were...

Solid Particle Erosion of Thermal Sprayed Coatings

Solid particle erosion is an important material degradation mechanism. Although various methods of coating are tried and used for protection against erosion, thermal sprayed coating for such purpose is the most widely used method. In this chapter, evolution of thermal sprayed coating, erosion testing methods, and erosive wear of thermal sprayed coatings are discussed extensively with emphasis o...

Effect of Carbide Particle Size on the Microstructure, Mechanical properties, and Wear Behavior of HVOF-sprayed WC-17% Co Coatings

This study investigates the effect of carbide particle size on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and abrasive wear resistance of WC-17%Co HVOF-sprayed coatings. The characteristics of WC-1, WC-2, and WC-3 coatings with carbide sizes of 1 µm, 0.9 µm, and 0.5 µm, respectively, were also investigated. WC-1 coating experienced the maximum carbon loss of 42%, while WC-2 and WC-3 coatings un...

High Temperature Corrosion Behavior of HVOF, Fe3Al Coatings

This work evaluates the suitability of iron aluminide coatings for use in high temperature fossil fuel combustion environments, such as boiler applications. The coatings are applied using High Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) thermal spray techniques. Bulk Fe3Al coatings are known to exhibit excellent oxidation and sulfidation resistance at high temperatures, however, the behavior of HVOF-deposited Fe3...
